ACCOUNTABILITY
NiaHealth’s services include consultations with healthcare practitioners and other trained personnel. In most jurisdictions, NiaHealth has overall responsibility for protecting your personal information, including personal health information, and we are directly accountable to you. In Alberta, your healthcare practitioners have overall responsibility for the privacy of your personal information, including personal health information, and NiaHealth assists them with that responsibility. More precisely, in Alberta, NiaHealth collects, uses, and discloses personal health information on behalf of healthcare practitioners who are ‘custodians’, as defined in the Alberta Health Information Act. For all other personal information collected through our services, including through your use of services that are not delivered by healthcare practitioners, such as dietician services in Alberta, NiaHealth has overall responsibility across Canada.

Registration and Use of our Services:
When you sign up to use our use our health, wellness and longevity services, we will collect your name, age, address, phone number, email address, gender, ethnicity, health history, information about your current health, wellbeing and lifestyle habits, medication information and blood sample. Our healthcare practitioners and our third party laboratory service providers use this information to analyze biomarkers in your blood sample and generate a personalized report that summarizes our analysis and offers recommendations in respect of your health, wellness and longevity.

Consultations with healthcare practitioners: If you have a consultation with one of our healthcare practitioners to review your health report with them, the practitioner will use your personal information to deliver this service. Our consultations are offered remotely, either through real-time video or audio technology. If you choose to use these services, you may be asked to verify your identity. We do our best to make sure that any information you give to us during virtual care visits is private and secure; however, there may be circumstances in which your communications with us, including the transmission of certain sensitive personal health information, will be through unencrypted e-communication. As with all online communications, there is a risk that your personal information may be intercepted or unintentionally accessed or disclosed, and this risk is increased when unencrypted e-communication is used. To help mitigate this risk, you should be in a private setting when receiving virtual care and should not use an employer’s or someone else’s computer or device.

Payment: If you purchase a service from NiaHealth, we (or our authorized third-party payment processor) will collect your full name and payment information (including billing address, credit card number, expiry date and CVV code) in order to process the transaction and enable NiaHealth to provide you with the services you have purchased.

Marketing Communications: If you sign up to receive email or text updates or marketing communications from us, we will collect your email address and/or telephone number in order to send you newsletters and updates that may be tailored to your interests and preferences. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link included at the bottom of each email or by replying “STOP” to any of our text messages. Alternatively, you can opt-out of receiving communications by contacting us at the contact information provided in the “Contact Us” section below. Please note that you may continue to receive transactional or account-related communications from us. We may use services provided by third-party platforms (such as social media and other websites) to serve targeted advertisements on such platforms to you or others, and we may provide a hashed version of your email address or other information to the platform provider for such purposes. We use this information for the purpose of processing and responding to your application for current and future career opportunities.
